The ERC-8004 Agent Economy —
Live Ecosystem Snapshot

A continuously refreshed, citable reference for the size and shape of the on-chain AI agent economy. Every number on this page is pulled live from our public index — total agents, per-chain distribution, on-chain reputation coverage, and buyer-POV readiness.

Registered = on-chain ERC-8004 registration event. Live = declared endpoint answers 2xx and advertises an MCP / OpenAPI / .well-known capability surface. Same predicate used by the chain-quality audit, the paid dashboard, and this page — they can never disagree.

Three Facts You Can Cite

Base holds the largest real, working ERC-8004 population, and Ethereum mainnet the highest-quality cohort. Of the 113,188 agents currently indexed across Base and Ethereum mainnet, roughly 19,608 live on Base and 1,950 on Ethereum mainnet. Base is where actual agent commerce is happening; on Ethereum the base rate says a registered agent is probably a real deployment rather than a placeholder.

On-chain reputation is real, and concentrated on Base. The ERC-8004 ReputationRegistry now carries 277,710 indexed feedback events touching 29,128 distinct agents. Feedback events are the first on-chain signal that separates an agent that is used from one that is merely reachable. Of these, 44 agents carry commerce-backed feedback — reputation attested by an ERC-8183 / ACP hook after a completed paid job, not by a batch bot.

Very few agents are safe to route a paying job to today. Of 90,974 agents stamped by our deterministic buyer-POV gate, only 16,224 currently hold a Transact-ready mark — reachable, TLS-valid, freshly probed, and either receiving on-chain payments or advertising a working x402 discovery response. The gap between "registered on-chain" and "integratable this afternoon" is enormous, and it is the number that matters for anyone shipping agent-to-agent flows.

Live-Sourced, Citable, Free to Reference

Every figure above is pulled live from GET /v1/public/stats — the same public, unauthenticated endpoint that powers our home page and blog. The page bakes the current values at build time so it renders with real numbers even before JavaScript runs, and then client-refreshes on load so anyone opening a stale tab sees the current snapshot.

Aggregate stats are cached server-side for five minutes and refreshed every fifteen minutes by our discovery + enrichment pipelines. There is no rate limit and no API key required. If you're writing an article, building a research dashboard, or citing ecosystem numbers in a proposal, feel free to hotlink this page or the JSON endpoint directly.

The underlying data is compiled from continuous ERC-8004 IdentityRegistry log scans (Base + Ethereum), tokenURI metadata resolution, live endpoint probes for MCP / OpenAPI / .well-known signals, and ERC-8004 ReputationRegistry feedback indexing. Aggregates are released under CC-BY-4.0 — attribution to "On-Chain Agent Intel" with a link back is all we ask.

Building a client? The full public surface is a machine-readable OpenAPI 3.1 spec at /v1/public/openapi.json (rendered at /v1/public/docs).
